Why anyhost is technically stronger than TeamViewer, AnyDesk and Ammy Admin

anyhost is a modern, worthy replacement for TeamViewer, AnyDesk and Ammy Admin with far broader functionality.
It is built on MeshCentral — an open remote management platform — and it is not «another TeamViewer» but a different class of solution.
Here is what that means in practice:

  • Open source under the hood

    MeshCentral is open source: the architecture can be audited, the connection protocol verified, the agent's behaviour controlled. Closed TeamViewer, AnyDesk and Ammy Admin have to be taken «as is», on trust.

  • One agent for Windows, Linux and macOS

    The same agent works identically across all three platforms. Ammy Admin is a Windows-only product; in TeamViewer and AnyDesk the Linux and macOS support is noticeably more limited than the Windows version.

  • More than a remote desktop

    Beyond the screen — a built-in terminal, file manager, process and service viewer, hardware and software inventory, event log. Everything runs in the background without interrupting the user. Competitors mostly offer only the screen and file transfer.

  • Wake-on-LAN and access to powered-off machines

    anyhost wakes computers over the network, and via Intel AMT connects to them even before the OS boots — down to the BIOS. In TeamViewer Wake-on-LAN is paid-tier only, AnyDesk and Ammy Admin cannot do it at all.

    Machines are split into groups by branch, permissions are granted by roles, and all management is automated via an API — bulk MSI/GPO deployment, scripts, integrations. Session recording and a full audit log come in the base package, with no surcharge.
